Combo Day
When you don't see each other that often and live an hour and a half away, a lot needs to get done in one visit. After a lovely drive in the countryside north of Kingston, looking for fall colours, we were hungry.
The dog was hungry....

... the turkeys were hungry...

..... and Charlotte was hungry. She decided to speed things along and mix the mashed potatoes to her liking. No lumps for that girl.

Sadly, Joel & Jen's family could not be with us, as they were enjoying a long-awaited visit with her Dad.
There were no fussy turkeys today - Costco roast chickens it was. Rigby was dying for a scrap.

It's amazing how a growing teenager can eat volumes of food and stay as slim as a pencil.

That pencil and his sister just took delivery of some accessories for their Hallowe'en costumes. A wig and teeny tiny hands for one....

.... teeny tiny hands that need slightly longer sleeves around them. And, maybe a little work on the comb-over

Wig #2 was perfect! Why Charlotte wants to be an old lady for Hallowe'en is beyond me.

Maybe it is because she has been practicing to be an old lady since she was a little girl.

I think she has the character nailed.

As I write this, I am back home and eating my share of the smoked pumpkin pie leftovers. Oh my! So, so good! Jocelyn at Tattered Apron Bakehouse is a genius.

A ride in the countryside, a tasty meal, a preview of Hallowe'en and hugs upon hugs. I am truly thankful.
Truly thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
