For a while, we were living in snow globe today.
Milkweed seeds were probably wondering what was happening.
With the forecast colder temperatures, we are making sure we have lots of wood at the back door.
After doing my portion of the shovelling and after bringing some more wood to the house, I went on a wander to look for beauty. Today's flakes were fluffy and didn't pile up on the blueberry shelter too badly. Aren't those spruce trees beautiful?
I love this image. Wood at the ready.
The back gate was doing a good job of showing contrasts: light and dark zigzags.
And, the chairs and tables around the frozen pond were being snow depth gauges. It looks like they all agree.
Good division of labour and fun. We both finished at the same time.
“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields,
that it kisses them so gently?
And then it covers them up snug,
you know,
with a white quilt;
and perhaps it says,
"Go to sleep, darlings,
till the summer comes again.”
Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
