Reflections

It was doggone dark at 6:30. No birds were singing yet.

Thank goodness for the light in the greenhouse.

Our third planting of mesclun mix greens is starting to mature. Today, there were 8 bags!

For a bit of a change, I bagged a few hot peppers in with the cherry tomatoes.

There won't be any more cucumbers, but the Delicata squash and other winter squashes are abundant. I am saving some for the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Day.

Swiss Chard, both inside the greenhouse and in the garden, are still growing.....

.... and thyme is still going strong. Most of the other herbs are done for the year.

As I stripped the bottom leaves off each flower stem and stacked them up, I noticed that this morning's light was beautiful.

The table where I arrange the flower bouquets was shiny. No dew there. It was like a mirror.

12 neighbours had their days brightened. And, the lovely ladies in Fare Share food bank's portioning room too. They said that seeing the flowers made their day. Lovely. Our flowers are brighting the path wherever they go.

88 lbs. today. We are up to 1476 lbs. year to date.

Time for a rest.
