Step 1 - decide to walk to school instead of taking the bus.
Step 2 - debate about how long it will take to walk to school with a dog
Steps 3 to 2,219 - walk on the paths in Dunham Park and Garden Walk Park noticing the colourful blankets of leaves covering the white blanket of snow, the dog checking out every animal smell along the way, me wondering if Charlotte is right about the timing.

Steps 2,220 to 2320 - me taking a deep breath.
Charlotte was right about timing.
And, there's the school!

As I said goodbye and took the first 100 steps toward home, I heard the bell ring. Not an electrically powered bell, but a charming old ding-dong bell. What a lovely way to be summoned to school.

Going home, I had the time to take pictures of the colourful blankets of leaves that we noticed on the way to school.....

.... and Rigby used some time to watch water flowing under a bridge.

Clearly these parks are used by many humans and animals. I imagine the thousands of neighbours with homes surrounding these long, winding parks are grateful to have nature so close to their homes.

4,640 steps - round trip.

you can't see it but you can feel it.”
