Harvest Time!

The weights are coming in today. Warm weather crops are ripening. After supper yesterday, we picked whatever vegetables and herbs that could be picked early. So, 12 large zucchini and 60 nice cucumbers were sleuthed out from the jungle-like garden. Ted washed them this morning.
Oh, and our first eggplant!

The herbs keep on giving provided I give them a haircut every so often.

We still have lots of beets to ripen in the next month. Bull's Blood. My favourite beet variety.

There were enough flowers for 14 bouquets. Ammi and Queen Anne's Lace and Dill are the filler flowers today.

I am saving these weekly images of the bouquets in a box. Whenever I get back to painting in watercolours, they will make great reference photos.

And, there we have it - 124 lbs. of nutrition and joy for our neighbours.

“Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap
but by the seeds that you plant.”
Robert Louis Stevenson
