44 years ago, on our two-day honeymoon, we visited Boldt Castle on the St. Lawrence River. Today, to do something special together, we came close. We took a brunch cruise on the Island Queen, leaving from Kingston.

This gentleman welcomed passengers as we lined up to board the boat. He sang and played for us throughout the 3 hour cruise.

The brunch folks had the second deck and we were spaced out nicely. Dallas, from Albany, N.Y. was next to us, alone at his 6 person table. He joined us at our table for the cruise. We got to see the Thousand Islands through his newcomer's eyes.

Ted has been feeling much better in recent weeks. That very attentive server brought several food courses throughout the trip.

Dallas tried peameal bacon for the first time. He liked it.

I love that this part of the St. Lawrence river is still quite natural looking.

In between music sessions, a lady from Gananoque who has lived next to the river her whole life, gave us a running commentary of what we were looking at . We learned that folks on this island need to wait for this 3 car ferry when going back and forth from the mainland. Could be a bit of a deterrent to living there. Could be wonderful.

44 years ago, not a swan was to be seen in this part of the country. Nature changes.

44 years ago, our minds didn't look this far ahead. We were newlyweds on a farm. Daily challenges of farming were enough to deal with. Ted calls me a saint for having put up with him for that long.
And, there is the end of the cruise, Kingston's waterfront.

And, 44 years ago, we never dreamed that we would have a grandson taller than ourselves. And 3 grand-daughters who are the apples of our eyes. I like how this partnership as worked out!

Happy Anniversary to us!
