After The Rain

Our gardens were singing with joy after last night's shower.

I may live to regret this, but the Canada Anemone are looking glorious this week. I hear they are very invasive, but if I were to be invaded by any plant, it would be Canada Anemones.

The rain darkened the chum bush's branches. I love it when that happens to trees. It makes them look dramatic.

And, the closer you get to the flowers the more beautiful they look.

From a distance and......

..... close up. The Siberian irises look like they are ready for the ball or the Oscars.

Blossoms are surrounding us today.....

.... and the morning mist made everything more beautiful.

This is my favourite month of the year.

Switching gears ... after touring Cobourg's Farmers' Market, our destination was a local art show, Art Salad. A driver passing by Anja Hertle's home on Hwy 2 would never guess that there was a really cool art show just beyond these trees. This view does not even hint about the possibility of a house there.

Pretty spring phlox and even prettier ones close up....

.... and a gatepost that speaks of what is to come.

We were greeted by a solid but friendly hospitality team....

... and there was inspirational art to no end.

I love these plant cages. Cages of a lifetime.

It was lovely to begin and end the morning in a garden.

I think all June days should begin and end in a garden.
