Last Wednesday, we brought 5.6 lbs of herbs/rhubarb & flowers to Fare Share. Today, the garden had a bit more to offer: 7 bunches of mixed herbs,
... and 7 bunches of mixed flowers....
..... including some crabapple blossoms .... and 3 bunches of swiss chard/perpetual spinach which overwintered.
There's a bit of rhubarb today, three bunches, but next year we will have lots more thanks to a sharing gardener north of Grafton.
I love the thin red line on this tulip's edges.
Inside the Vegepod, the tomatoes and peppers look like they are ready to go into the ground. I think I'll do that today. The weather forecast shows very warm nights for the next two weeks.
Isn't it cool how the tomato leaves collect moisture in the Vegepod and decorate themselves with it?
Inside the greenhouse, our first two beds of transplanted salad greens are very happy. Beginners' luck?
Yesterday, we planted some flower seeds in the small cloches. I am wondering if they will be happy in a double greenhouse? Just an experiment. We'll see. I am hoping that they will not need watering for a week or two.
Bull's Blood Beets seem to be happy in their new location. This cloudy weather has truly been a gift. Everything has transplanted so easily.
And finally, some of the parsley that overwintered might be ready to take a trip to Cobourg next week. Exciting! A vacation to Cobourg. I won't tell them that they will be eaten there. Some things are best left unsaid.
