Boucherville

On Saturday, we biked around the islands that we are camping on. Somewhere around 30 km of flat, smooth gravel roads. And, it's one of those If You Build It, They Will Come scenarios. Families and friends by the thousands biking and hiking and picnicking.

I made a nice long post about it yesterday morning and just as I was going to publish it, something went awry with WIX and autosave wasn't working. Darn. Looks like it's working today.

This will be quick. We hope to leave for our favourite market and favourite campground this morning and the campsite is a 2 ½ km ride from where I am getting my internet.

There are multiple ferries that take you from Îles-de-Boucherville to Boucherville and to Montreal. We booked one to Boucherville online.

That's the one going to Montreal.

1742. The year many of these homes were built. That deserves black and white.

Buildings were made to last.

And trees too.

Art was solid in those days.

And, so were cats.

I love the roofs in this part of the province.

We walked around the old part of Boucherville, had a nice lunch and waited for our booked ferry back. There are lots of benches in the shade along the very long bike path on the Boucherville side of the channel. Those kayaks can be rented on the islands. Sadly, all was not quiet.

But, sometimes quiet enough to get close up views of egrets.

The cruisers seem to attract a lot of police presence. They are VERY NOISY.

And, back to the present, folks waiting for our ferry back to the campground.

Next stop: Cap a la Roche campground in Deschaillons Sur St. Laurent.
