The handy thing about having grandkids this age is that they come with their own lists of things they want to accomplish. Last night Ewen drew up plans for a sword and a hammer that he wanted to build with Grandpa. This morning, a 10 year old's dreams came true.
There will be epic battles with the neighbourhood kids when they go home.
Charlotte is a lot like her Mom. She has clear ideas of what she wants and is good a communicating them. She wanted Ted to build her a CAR complete with a roof. High expectations. Grandpa wasn't up to making a car in one day, so a compromise was reached. A simple soapbox derby car.
While Ewen got more experience using the sander on his sword, Charlotte got a taste of using a router today.
While Grandpa had an afternoon nap, Ball's Mill Conservation area was invaded by two warriors.
These warriors did what needed to be done. If a rock bridge was needed, it got built.
After a couple of hours in the frigid water, working in the shop looked good. This girl is getting pretty good at driving in screws.
After some negotiations, a sharing compromise was reached. If you don't share, you have no one to play with. Hmmmmm....
Turns out sharing is a great concept.
Who knows what is on their bucket list for tomorrow? I am hoping for some quiet making of art around a table.
