Cottage Life - Day 1

Nothing like starting your day with a sunfish. We are on Kennebec Lake with Lindsey and her kids. I wondered if that would be the only fish of the day. We'll see.

Telestrations! Even Ted enjoyed the game.

We were wondering if the Mango juice that we picked up at Almost Perfect would taste good. It was amazing!

I love it when you feel so relaxed that you just do what you want to do. Like experiment with pine tree sap. Oh Charlotte.

Aha! Fish number 2.

While Ewen was fishing, Charlotte and I made some twine out of lily leaves. It almost looks like her hair colour.

And, Grandpa found a few zzzz's.

Charlotte has not had much experience in this size of kayak. She caught on quickly.

The weather was perfect for a paddle and.....

.... Ewen convinced me to take the second kayak paddle of my life. He assured me that he would take good care of me when we paddled together. He did.

Later in the afternoon, the sun came out and sparkled on the water. Good thing because the cottage runs on solar electricity.

I would say "fish number three", but I have no idea what number this is. Ewen caught 13 fish today!

And the sun set on an iconic Canadian scene outside our window.

Sadly, we can't have a campfire because of the fire ban. But, we could end with a quote about a fire. That would work.
“Give a man a fire and he's warm for a day,
but set fire to him and he's warm for the rest of his life.”
Terry Pratchett
