Easter Birthday!

Charlotte's 12th birthday fell in the middle of Easter weekend this year. There were remnants of yesterday's birthday party everywhere when we arrived for an Easter Birthday lunch today.

I love it when the next generation steps up and takes charge of meals. Ewen wanted to try Smash Tacos. Not the traditional Easter meal that some would expect but....

.... when a teenager figures out how to make a meal....

... and puts the effort in to cook it just right...

.... my mouth waters and my heart swells. Wouldn't yours?

And, my tongue sends a message to my brain saying, "This tastes wonderful!"

Hugs in the foyer were not enough for the birthday girl as we said our goodbyes. It was a double-hug day. I am glad we've lived long enough to catch a glimpse of who all four of our grandkids will be as adults.
