It's been wonderful being with our "Adventure Buddies" again. This morning, we chose a couple of parks and a market as our destinations. Some of their websites were less than informative so we didn't know what to expect. Over the years, we have learned to go with the flow and wait for surprises to happen.

Parc nature de la région d'Acton was our first stop. I have had to seriously cut the number of photos to be included in this post. Everywhere we turned there was beauty and thought-provoking art.

Comment vivre 100 ans - How to live 100 years - is a photography installation by the Quebec artist Adrianne Clément. Adrianne is interested in photographing the elderly. She is also interested in understanding the elderly who live in the world's "Blue Zones". There are 5 blue zones in the world where people live extraordinarily long lives. These 5 zones are: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece; and Loma Linda, California

As we started walking the trails we had no idea what was in store for us.

Okinawa, Japan

Umeto Yamashiro - 99 years old - at 80 she realized her dream of becoming a dancer.

The colours in the forest were mainly yellow. But, occasionally a bright red leaf called out to me to be photographed.

Ikaria, Greece

I love the placement of each photograph. It looks like this lady is happy to see us.

Loma Linda, California

Sometimes, photos were bunched up together.....

ree

Sardinia, Italy

..... sometimes they looked like they were interested in us. Maybe this lady is wondering why Ruth is standing on her tiptoes.

ree

We were wondering if the installation was not complete. Near the beginning of the trail, there were separate plaques telling the age and story of the various elderly subjects. By this point in the trail there were no plaques.

ree

Part way through the walk, we were challenged to act like future centenarians and walk up a steep set of stairs.

ree

Don't this man.....

ree

..... and this woman fit into their surroundings beautifully?

ree

What amazingly detailed photography!

ree

Nikoya, Costa Rica

I think this lady was over 100 years old.

Maria Trinidad (below) was 102 years old when this photo was taken. There was a sign beside her photograph which stated that she loves meeting strangers. Well, we loved meeting you too, Maria!

All of us walked away inspired. Well, all of us except for Ted. He is not a fan of getting really old. 🥴

The reflections in the pond were waiting for us when we returned to the truck.

ree

After all of that inspiration, we were hungry. 1555 Marché Public became our second destination of the morning. And, what a market it is!

ree

Lunch and supper and tomorrow's breakfasts made their way into our grocery bags and backpacks. Pea soup, saurkraut with sausage and ham, almond croissants, a box of chocolates, a Middle Eastern dinner and who knows what else?

ree

Oh, and a chocolate eclair. Ruth is not enjoying herself at all.

ree

The rain was nice enough to fall when we were inside the market building. It made a pretty scene on the truck's windshield.

ree

All of us are somewhere around 70% of the way to being 100 years old. For today, we felt like we were living in a blue zone. It was perfect.
