"I'm Thkfull"

Being thankful is a state of mind that sometimes is relegated to one day. Today was our day to be thankful and to be together.

Today, a milestone occurred. The first of the younger generation is now taller than the shortest of the older generation. He's not happy about that at all.

It's lovely when everyone contributes to the meals. And, the art making gets pushed to the side to be picked up later.

Another milestone: our annual treasure hunt no longer needs me to set it up. The youngest generation took charge this year.

And, I am sure you are wondering just where hunger dies? Under the dining room table. Do you see the clue?

8 clues later and we won a desert. We compromised by having a pound cake dessert with ice cream and chocolate syrup. Winning deserts is so over-rated anyhow.

Our sponsor today is thankfulness.

It seems that every simple toy that has been played with for all their lives needs to be played with again each visit. No fun at all.

Our sponsor is getting wordier.

Every toy played with and every game played again......

..... and shared with the older generations....

...... who were very proud of the youngster's poise and reading skills.

Today's theme has a bit of a sub-theme to it. Roofs and health seem important this year.

We admired gigantic oaks on our Thanksgiving walk.

Sumac leaves too.

Orange ones, red ones....

... and yellow ones.

Younger folks made sure we were still following.

Prayers were said and ......

..... dogs were beckoned.

Cool tunnelled entrances were entered and....

..... posed in.

People miraculously morphed into frogs.....

.... and hands were held.

I will be sad when thkfull becomes thankful.

I've been saving our yoghurt containers for a dozen years. They make an appearance ech time these guys visit.

And, they seem to be so loved that they follow kids to the table for dessert.

Dessert. No deserts to be found anywhere.

But there sure were a lot of mashed potatoes!

“Be thankful for what you have;

you'll end up having more.

If you concentrate on what you don't have,

you will never, ever have enough.”

Oprah Winfrey
