After today's appointment at the Fortierville hospital, it was too hot to do anything other than take another crop tour. Because we've driven most of the roads south of our campground, we decided to head eastward ending at the Bergeron cheese factory in St. Antoine de Tilly. The land is not as productive going east from Fortierville.
The sentier de la rivière du Chêne (Chene river trail) looks like a trip through remnants of the ice ages to me. We chose not to hike it. 30°C and hiking should not be part of the same sentence at our age.
But, admire it, we could.
Going back to the same area always brings its rewards. We'd never gone down this particular road. Every road has its own beauty,
Eventually we made it to the Bergeron cheese factory. Yum. Smoked cheddar. Heading westward to the campground, we took the road most traveled, the 132. Why? There are lots of little lookouts and winding, narrow roads going down to the shore. We took every one of them.
I love how the sky and the white background melt together without an edge.
This part of the St. Lawrence is a little weedier along the shore. We met a couple from Oxford, England in a rented convertible. When they said they wanted to see Niagara Falls, our knee-jerk response was, "Why?"
This is your only taste of farmland today.
Across the river.
And, my last post of a cargo carrier.
Good night from Deschaillons sur St. Laurent.
