On the days when Ted gets 4 or 5 hours' sleep, he's a new man. Gone are farming days when he would get up at 5 or 6 and not stop until 8 p.m., or later if it was spring or fall. Those days will never return and we are learning to adjust.
So, what do you think is going on here?
George Coker Mudroom Style Long Boxes. Ted was commissioned to build some of these babies for the Northumberland Land Trust. This is how he rolls now. And, he's having fun.
Interesting layout to this bluebird or tree swallow's home. The first room upon entering is a mud room. The nest is built in the smaller room at the far end of the home. Kind of cosy looking. The Land Trust folks are hoping for bluebirds. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
And, there you have it! One job ticked off the spring list. Thankfully, the list is not long.
“I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school.
They don't teach you how to love somebody.
They don't teach you how to be famous.
They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor.
They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer.
They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind.
They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying.
They don't teach you anything worth knowing.”
