Paris!

It's been 47 years since Joel and I took a plane ride together. Last night we flew to Paris.

I love traveling with younger people. They are so much more technologically adept than I am. We took the RER train to the heart of the city and then followed our noses for the afternoon. The Bounce app came in handy and we were able to store our luggage in the back of a crepe restaurant while we wandered around.

The air was crisp and clean and perfect.

I think my cup of decaf coffee was about 2" high. But, what a memoreable two inches it was.

There were alleys upon alleys to be explored.

We found our way over to a path along the Seine. I think the pilot of that tour boat is very good at what he/she does. The arch is not much wider that the boat.

And, speaking of boats, wouldn't it be wonderful to live on this one? It's right across the river from the Louvre.

Or one of these?

I had no idea how large the Louvre is. We hope to go there on Wednesday. Not sure how our time here will unfold as there may be a general strike. this week. On Thursday, the day we are scheduled to take the Eurostar train to London.
There was some pretty sensational art to be seen in store windows...

... and lovely little alleyways that led to sunlight courtyards.

Everyone has a right to light, it seems.

Don't you wonder what possessed this artist to make this metallic embellishment?

On the bottom left of this image is part of a crack that extended to the edge of the store window. It seems that someone wanted to break in but weren't successful.

I am kicking myself that I didn't buy one of these loaves of raisin bread for breakfast tomorrow. Right now, Joel is out and about, looking for a grocery store that is just around the corner. Supper and breakfast will be surprises. Exciting!

We zigzagged our way back to the Crepe restaurant. A Danton helped us with directions.

Our bags were happily waiting for us and we went in search of an Uber to take us to where we will sleep for the next two nights.

There's our building. Now, how to get in?

We had two Joels with us, just in case we needed extra brain power.

I took our luggage up in the tiny elevator with the sliding bar door while Joel hoofed it up the stairs. There wasn't much light in the hallway, but we made do and were home.

And, there's the Eiffel Tower!

It's wonderful to be here and wonderful to be with Joel.

And, I think I hear supper arriving.

If you want to follow our adventures, you will need to go to my blog on your own. I have limited shares in my plan.
