We debated where to go to begin to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. Peterborough Markets? Pastry Peddler in Millbrook for breakfast? We decided on pointing the car in a northwesterly trajectory so that we would end up at the Garden Hill Farmers' Market. We were hoping to get breakfast there.
It looks like a little rain isn't deterring these guys from finding their breakfasts.
This is a great little market.
We were hungry and the sign on the counter was enticing to Ted.

Brisket on a bun for breakfast it was. I think Ted was looking a little stunned in this picture because he was internalizing just how good it tasted. Oh, and it could be that they just lost their power. Small blessings - our meal was cooked and picked up from the counter.... and then the power went off.
Generators are a good thing. In 10 minutes or so, power was restored to a select part of the facility.
It looks like the bakery staff have been busy this morning.
If you have never tried Jersey chocolate milk, you are missing out on one of life's little pleasures.
And, it looks like potato season has begun. Another little pleasure - new potatoes.
Garden Hill Farmers' Market does a great job of making their entry look enticing. Every year, there are different vegetables planted next to the driveway. They have acres and acres of land planted to vegetables in the surrounding countryside, but it is nice to see a sampling next to the market.
We took some dead end roads and side roads home.
Elderberries are in full bloom this week.
Mist was rising from the pond on Grist Mill Road....
.... and corn crops were revelling in this spring's wet weather.
This coyote was on its way somewhere, but turned around and ran when we stopped our car. Maybe it was looking for a local breakfast too.
Any ideas what is behind these raindrops?
Jibb's wheat field. What a crop!
Some strawberries made their way home with us. We are getting old. This is the first time we've bought a flat of pre-picked berries. 6 pints of strawberry blessings.
I never expected to have breakfast in a restaurant without power, be able to still get really nice strawberries so late in the season and see a coyote when we headed out this morning.
Small blessings. Early Happy Anniversary to us.
