Saying Yes to New Adventures

We love, love, love visiting farm stores. Today's destination was a visit to Sargent Family Dairy Farm in Enniskillen. Their Jersey milk products are sold in a few places locally and their cheeses always find a way of coming home with us.
To get there, we drove through some quaint towns like Tyrone where we were attracted to free garden plants on a church's front step. How can you not stop for that? Even if some of them were crying for water?

Our adventure buddy noticed a sign indicating that there was a garden behind the church. The Foundation Garden. How can one say no to a garden with an entry like this one? The sound of trickling water, a beautiful wrought iron gate...

.... and contained inside the walls of a former drive shed.

Within those walls were 8 distinct seating areas, surrounded by garden shrubs and flowers. One even had two child-sized tables with their own benches and teacups.

Here's a better view of that area.
We were all amazed at the beauty of this garden. You could tell that the gardeners really knew what they were doing. It was beautiful.

Up Old Scugog Road a sign was pointing us in the direction of Sargent Dairy Farms. And, there are their happy Jersey cows lazing about in the pasture. What a life!!!

Near the milk processing plant, hay was being baled. Some cheese and bread and their delicious Jersey chocolate milk (yum) made their way into our coolers. We were getting the makings of a picnic lunch.

Now to find a picnic table. There are a few conservation areas north east of Eniskillen. After some fun with dead end roads, and going down a poorly maintained entrance road, we ended up at Pigeon River Headwaters Conservation Area.
And, under that roof were picnic tables!!!

We decided not to venture out on a hike because of this sign and also because there was a notice that their boardwalk was closed. That was one of our smarter decisions of the day.

I love eating meals like the French do. A little bread and butter, a little cheese and....

.... we may have invented a new sandwich: sourdough bread with red pepper jelly, roasted garlic and red pepper cheese topped with a boiled egg. Soooo good! And, there's the chocolate Jersey milk.

I am glad we all said "yes" to today's new adventure....

.... except for this part.

I think the truck is OK.
