Still Winter

We've been cooped up for two weeks with a crappy cold. Today, we were both feeling a bit better and decided to do some exploring while sitting comfortably in the truck. No walking for us today.
Tensile stength. Of snow. So cool.

Some of the north-south unopened roads were nicely drifted in.

Our plan was to head a bit north and over to Port Hope to see all of the construction projects there. Every so often we were treated to a great view of Lake Ontario. I love the colour layers of this image. There was still a lot of unharvested corn to be seen.

Even east-west roads had some serious snowbanks.

After checking out the new bridge being built on the 401, we headed to the lake.

The shoreline is still wintery. That doesn't seem to have stopped this gentleman from trying to catch a fish. Nice of him to wear a red coat.

Ice came in feathery forms....

.... and in pancake shapes. Our sponsor today is the shushing sound of ice pancakes brushing up against each other.

And, the icing on the cake of our road trip was seeing this Goldeneye. Beauty to no end today. I am still going to miss winter.
