Both Peterborough Markets have sellers who we love to buy from. It would just be wrong to visit one market and not the other. Our favourite vendor at the Peterborough Farmers' Market on Lansdown is Brown's Farm. I think they are everyone's favourite. There were lineups at all of their tables. And, bonus: our 50 lb. bag of Huckleberry potatoes was wheeled to our car by one of their staff. Thank you, thank you!

The Peterborough Regional Farmers' Market on Charlotte Street in the downtown area is exciting. Today we saw Brussels sprouts that looked like pieces of modern art.

Organic vegetables were envied...

.... and our new favourite baker was discovered. Barn Door Bakery. Their almond croissants are as good as any we've had in Quebec.

Heading east from Peterborough and nearing Norwood, it became very clear very quickly that everyone else was going there too. Opening day of the Norwood Fair.

Going to see big horses.....

ree

...... and fast horses.

ree

And having fun under blue skies.

ree

Viewing wonderful arts.

ree

And admiring teachers who know how to teach art. Isn't this lovely?

Tall corn.

Nice man.

Long-necked horse with excellent hairdos.

Ladies who ride.

Men wearing kilts.

Others driving tractors.

ree

Half cars......

.... and young girls showing calves.

We'd never attended the Norwood Fair on opening day. We could not get over how big their car show was.

What a paint job.

ree

The original owners would probably be shocked at some of the colours used today on their cars.

ree

Maybe shocked and awed.

ree

We were awed. It was an awesome day.
