Yesterday, the final two blocks of snow slid off the greenhouse roof. I pulled a lot of snow off last week, but could not reach those ones. The greenhouse has been consistently 5 to 8 degrees warmer than the outside for the past couple of cloudy weeks. This morning our remote weather station showed 99% humidity. Time to take a look inside.

The snow has settled a lot in the past 4 or 5 days. Late last week, it was up to my knees when I made these tracks to the greenhouse.

Swivelling around to the shop building, this angle allows you to see the strata of snow on the roof. Cool hey? Every snowstorm has its own layer, much like growth rings in trees.

Last week, the remote weather station showed 34% humidity! Oops. I chose the easy route and shovelled a lot of snow on to the beds. Future water. Easily accessible.

For some garden folks, the snow is still almost knee high.

Stumps are getting creative in the woods.

It looks like we'll have enough moisture for composting this spring. The right two bins are full of bags of leaves from neighbours.

For the past 10 years or so, we've been trying to make our little corner of the world more nature-friendly. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
Hmmmm.... I doubt that the intended bird is living here.
