Mushroom Wonderland

Yesterday, I stumbled across around 8 or 10 mushroom species in our little wooded backyard. This morning, Ted followed me around to find them again. And, whadda ya know? Two more species! Who knows what tomorrow might bring?

Isn't this the coolest looking mushroom?

I am tempted to do a series of paintings on a mushroom theme.

It looks like it might be a day further along than its buddies below.

Verdigris Agaric might be the name of the stunning blue-green gem below. I thought the tops looked beautiful and then I saw.....

.... the stems and sideview. Shows that it pays to really look at things doesn't it?

I am dying to see what tomorrow will bring in our mushroom wonderland.
