Yesterday morning, my camera and I walked around to the Peterborough's GreenUp Ecology Park - a 10 minute walk from our campsite. I love that we can wander over there, completely within the beauty of nature. Their gardens are a wealth of inspiration for us.
And, if you pay attention, you will see shining gems. I did.
Little floating seeds caught in a floral web.
A pollinator visiting a wild phlox.
And, a wild columbine's feathery personal bling. Somewhere between photographing this flower and arriving back at the trailer, I suffered a health challenge. Time and details made no sense to me. It was hard to understand what was happening in my body so I tried to live life as normal - maybe try to post these lovely pictures. I had no idea how to do that. Clearly something was wrong.
Ted whisked me to the Peterborough Regional Hospital's emergency department and I was quickly attended to. Long story short - life has changed for us. No sign of stroke, maybe some type of migraine. Who knows. I'll be visiting the Peterborough Stroke Centre sometime in the near future. For now, I won't be taking those long 8-10 km walks on my own. 🙁 or driving 🙁. A new adventure.
During the 4 or 5 hours we were in the Emergency department, I gained a greater empathy and understanding for our health workers and for the countless folks addicted to drugs. Life/work sucks for all of them.
